Department Of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) Sarikei Division has been operating since 1978 from its office located at Jalan Kapur, Sarikei. However, after the declaration of Mukah as one of the new division (Eleventh Division of Sarawak) in November 2003, DID Sarikei was merged with DID Mukah and the administrative office is moved to Menara Pehin Setia Raja, Mukah.

After several years of operation under DID mukah, in August 2016, the Top Management has decided to re-instate back DID Sarikei as a Divisional office and no longer under the administration of DID Mukah. Currently, DID Sarikei has 21 staffs.
