RM 1.335 million., Annual O & M cost is RM 70,000.00 ( 1996 )

Objective of Scheme

1. To overcome salt water intrusion during high tide, perimeter bund and tidal gates were constructed.
2. To protect the area from the flash flooding from the interior, cut-off bund and drain were constructed.
3. To have a proper drainage so as to create a better condition for cultivation and increase land utilisation. Off season cropping introduced can increase the income of the farmers

The scheme is situated on the right bank of Btg. Lupar directly opposite Sri Aman Town.

Block I ( 200 Ha. ), Block II ( 400 Ha. )

RM 800,000.00 ( Block I ) RM 960,000.00 ( Block II )

Objective of Scheme

1. To overcome salt water intrusion high tide, perimeter bund and tidal gates were constructed.

3. To have proper drainage so as to create a better condition for cultivation.

Block I was designed for Cocoa and tree crop planting by FELCRA, but FELCRA has abandoned the area in 1994 due to low price of cocoa. Block II is designed for the planting of oil palm.

SKRANG DRAINAGE SCHEME

Scheme Location

It comprises of two districtly separate low lying areas, the Paya Senama and Paya Tanjung. The Paya Senama begins at the junction of Sg. Senama at 142 milestone Kuching/Sibu Road. Paya Tanjung is located at the Tanjung of Batang Skrang.

Scheme Area

90 hectares.

Cost of Construction

RM 125,000.00 to complete the scheme ( 1970 ). Annual O & M cost - RM 30,000.00 ( 1996 ).

Objective of Scheme

To improve the area for better paddy planting. This is to additional income for the rubber farmers in the area.

Scheme Components/ Infrastructures

a). 1 no. of Twin Culvert.
b). 1 no. of Drainage Control Gate at Tanjung.
c). 2 streches of Main Drains of 4.1 km at Paya Senama.
d). 1 streches of Main Drain of 0.7 km of Paya Tanjung.
e). 1 no. R. C. Check gate.
f). 2 nos. of 6' x 33' belian bridge.

TANJUNG SADURU DRAINAGE SCHEME

Scheme Location

The scheme is located in Lubok Antu District and is situated on the Batang Lupar about 16 km upstream from Sri Aman town.

Scheme Area

202 hectares.

Cost of Construction

RM 160,000.00. Annual O & M cost is RM 80,000.00.

Objective of Scheme

1. To implement the basic drainage infrstructures so as to alleviate serious flooding and to control water level in the scheme. This is will improve the paddy field hence the standard of living among the farmers.
2. To improve the water managment within the scheme and also the field lots.

Scheme Components/ Infrastructures

a). 6.7 km of perimeter bund and drain.
b). 1.2 km of cut-off drain.
c). 3.5 km of internal bund and drain.
d). 1 no. of tidal control gate.
e). 2 nos. of R.C. check gate.
f). 1 unit of site depot.
g). 5 nos. of timber crossing.
