INTRODUCTION

Presently, the hydrological stations in JPS Bahagian Betong comprise of rainfall & water level stations. Altogether, there are thirteen (13) rainfall stations and six (6) water level stations situated within the two main river basins, namely the Batang Saribas basin and Batang Krian basin.

BATANG SARIBAS BASIN

Within the Batang Saribas basin which covered an area of about 2,200 km², there are eight (8) rainfall stations and three (3) water level stations. These stations are as follows;

BATANG KRIAN BASIN

Rainfall Stations
With an area of about 1,500 km², the Batang Krian basin housed five (5) rainfall stations and three (3) water level stations. The 5 rainfall stations are;

• Sessang 2 (Alit)               (1811010)

• Kabong                            (1811007)

• Kaki Wong                       (1714001)

The three (3) water level stations situated within this basin are;

STATION PROFILES

Effective middle of January 2007, the operation and maintenance (O & M) of all hydrological stations located within the Batang Saribas and Batang Krian basins are under the jurisdiction of and to be undertaken by JPS Bahagian Betong. The exercise took place immediately after the sorting and the subsequent handing over of responsibilities pertaining to the O & M of stations located within the administrative boundary of Sri Aman Division to JPS Bahagian Betong
