URBAN DRAINAGE SECTION

Function

i) To improve major irrigation system to be more effective in all major cities throughout Sarawak

ii) Conserve the main drainage system in urban areas in an effective state to lessen the occurrences of floods

iii) Provide feedback and technical comments relating to urban drainage within 4-8 weeks

iv) Respond to all complaints relating to urban drainage within 1 week

v) Take Emergency repair actions to overcome urban drainage system problems in towns within 4 days

Please be informed that the telephone lines at the Headquarters of the Drainage and Irrigation Department Sarawak are expected to experience disruptions from 14 January 2026 until 5 February 2026. This disruption is due to the relocation of the Quantity Surveying & Contract Management Division, Human Resources & Administration Division, and Finance Division, which are located on the 10th Floor of Wisma Saberkas, to the Transit Office on the 2nd Floor of the Binamas Building, to facilitate office renovation works.
