The Administrative District of DID Limbang, Division is situated at the East -North of Sarawak about 420 km from Kuching City.

Its office is located at 6th. Floor, Bangunan Limbang, Plaza in the town of Limbang District. The Administrative  of DID Limbang Division covers two district; they are the Limbang District and Lawas District with a total area of approximately 19,804 km².

Control Drainage infrastructures are provided in 5 drainage schemes and 1 irrigation scheme with a total area of approximately 1,910 ha.

The Administrative District of DID Limbang is headed by an Irrigation and Drainage Engineer, Grade J48 and assisted by  1 Civil Engineer, Grade J41 with a supporting staff of 28 personnels.

The main duties carried out in the district are:-

(I)To plan and implement the Department's works in line with its policies  and functions.

(II) To operate and maintain Irrigation Schemes. This include minor drainage schemes planted by farmers with small areas in order to assist their product output.

To operate and maintain major urban drainage system that includes major trunk drains. Secondary drains and drains that are in housing development are maintained by the local authority. Whereas road-side drains are maintained by the Public Works Department.

To plan and implement river conservancy works. River conservancy is a very important traditional function of DID. Works carried out include removing debris from rivers that restrict the smooth flow, river dredging and straightening.

On average the Administrative District of two conserve 123 numbers of rivers with a total length of 231 km every year.
