Time Based Promotion Session Question and Answer Issues
Question 1: An officer who is in the promotion grade, for example before being transferred, the position is Motor Vehicle Driver, Grade R6.
After the change of appointment, the position is Vehicle Driver, Grade H11. Does the officer have to wait 13 years for the officer to apply for
TBK 1 as their position is from promotion grade and is there any initiative to upgrade the grade of informed officer?
Answer: This matter is still in the attention of the SHRU and the department has provided/supplied information regarding officers who are in
the promotion grade.
Question 2: A Planner, Grade JA22 who has completed 13 years of service is eligible to apply for TBK 2?
Answer: Based on the record, two (2) Planners in this department have chosen the option to change appointments. The officer had to wait
13 years to apply for TBK2.
Question 3: For officers who have chosen the Change Option, do they have to wait a period of 13 years to apply for TBK1 (13 years).
Answer: Officers who have chosen the change of appointment option must wait a period of 13 years to apply for TBK1.
Question 4: Is the salary of an officer who chooses the change of appointment option, for example, given one (1) increase (KGT)?
Answer: For officers who have chosen the switch option, their salary is still the same. Officers whose salaries have been maximum before
the change of appointment will enjoy the next annual salary increase in the following year.
