RURAL GROWTH CENTRE GEDONG BLOCK B
Location 
The project area lies partly within Simunjan and partly in Serian District, about 1 km from Gedong town

Project Objectives

To raise the productivity and income of the farmers through the provision of improved drainage fadilities, access road and intensive agricultural services.
Construction Period The project start May 1998 and completed in October 1999.
Project Cost The cost for this project is RM 1,043,097.70.
Date of Completion The project completed in October 1999
Project Area Its covers and area of 403 hectares.
Project Component 1. Provision of drainage and flood control facilities for the area.
2. Provision of water level control structures for water management at farm level.
3. provision of farm access road.
4. Construction of a site complex consisting of office, workshop and living quarters for staff involved in the supervision, operation and maintenance of the scheme.

SAMARAHAN HILIR DRAINAGE SCHEME
Location 
The Lower Samarahan Scheme which consist of an area of 4,520 acres (1,829 hectares) is within the Samarahan River basin. The area extends from Sungai Tuang, a triburaty of Batang Samarahan to Loba batu Belat. The area is accessible by road from Kuching which of approximately 32 km (20 miles) distance.The scheme is divided into 4 blocks namely A, B, C, and D.
1. Block A  -  920 acres
2. Block B  -  1,460 acres
3. Block C  -  1,810 acres
4. Block D  -  330 acres
No internal drainage is provided in Block D as the area has been placed under Section 47 of the Land Code for the proposed Kota Samarahan Town Expension Scheme.

Project Objectives

To raise productivity, living standard and income of the farmers through provision of improved drainage faciliries, access roads and intensified agricultural supporting services.

Project Area Its covers and area of 4,520 acres (1,829 hectares)
Project Component The main component of the project are as follos :-
1. Provision of drainage and flood control facolities for the area to alleviate flooding.
2. provision of water level control structures for better water managment at farm level.
3. Provision of farm access road for easier transportation between farm lot and marketing centre.

SADONG KRANG DRAINAGE SCHEME
Location 
The Scheme is located on low flat land and enclosed by Sadong and Krang rivers. The scheme is accessible by road and it is about 35km from Serian town in the Samarahan Division. The project lies partly within Simunjan and partly in Serian District.

Project Objectives

To raise the productivy and income of improved drainage facilities, access roads and intensive agricultural services.
Construction Period The project was started in 1978 and completed in 1983.
Project Cost Total cost for the project was 2.8 million.
Date of Completion Completed in 1983.
Project Area The total area first allocated in 1970s for the scheme was 540 hectares. In1980s a Goverment Secondary School was built on the central eastern side of the Scheme which reduced the scheme area to 524 hectares
Project Component The main project components are as follows :-
1. Provision od drainage and flood control facilities for the area.
2. provision of water level control structures for water managment at farm level.
3. provision of farm access road.
4. Construction of site complex cocsisting office, workshop and living quarters for staff involved in the supervision, operation and maintenance of the project.

SEBANGAN BAJONG AGRICULTURAL DEVELOPMENT PROJECT
Location  The proposed project is situated between the Batang Lupar to the east, Batang Sadong to the west and South China sea to the north. It is drained by tree rivers namely Sungai Sebangan, Sungai Sebuyau and Sungai Tebelu. Sebangan Bajong Agricultural Development Project was launched by Sarawak Chief Minister YAB Pehin Sri Haji Abdul Taib Mahmud on July 1987.

Project Objectives

1. To provide infrastructure to overcome the problems of salt water intrusion and flash flood.
2. To increase the income, productivity and living standard of local residents.
3. To maximize land utilization.
Construction Period  
Project Cost The project cost for the Sabangan Bajong Agricultural Development project is RM 131.85 million.
Date of Completion  
Project Area Sebangan Bajong Scheme covers an area approximately 16,000 hectares. For planning purposes, it is divided into 7 blocks namely Block A, Block B, Block C, Block D, Block E, Block F and Block G.
Topography & Soil The project area comprises mainly flat coastal plain and central hill mass. Soils in the area are mainly marine and riverine alluvium and deep peat with some areas of shallow peat, the region is mainly drained bye three rivers and their tributaries.
