SIBU (July 25): Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) Bawang Assan Community Development Team conducted a site survey of drains at various places in Bawang Assan on Tuesday.

Team leader Councillor Kevin Lau said the site visit with staff from the Department of Irrigation and Drainage (DID) was to inspect some earth drainage that required clearing.

“With the feedback we gathered, we covered areas like Sungai Bidut, Sungai Sadit and Lebaan.

“We also discussed with DID engineers on the solutions and also issues which requires our assistance to communicate with the local residents,” he said.

Lau said the team would follow-up on the matter closely and hoped the collective effort with the DID would further improve water discharge to the river outlets.
