MIRI: People in Tudan can expect more drainage upgrading works to be conducted in their areas.

Transport Minister Datuk Lee Kim Shin assured that more focus would be given to provide a proper drainage system for Tudan.

“Tudan is a new residential area under my constituency and the areas are divided into six regions. Thus, the effort to upgrade the drainage system in Tudan is an ongoing commitment and would be implemented in stages.

“These projects are implemented under the state’s Rural Transformation Programme (RTP),” he stated after making a project inspection at Kampung Muhibbah in Kuala Baram yesterday.

Lee, who is also Senadin assemblyman, said the current drainage improvement work at Tudan has now entered its second stage and more funding would be used to ensure Tudan has a proper drainage system.

He went to Kampung Muhibbah to monitor the progress of the second phase of concrete drainage construction works for the village.

He said the first phase of the project which was implemented by Drainage and Irrigation Department was completed last year.

He expressed satisfaction at the progress of the second phase which registered 30 per cent completion.

After that, he went to see Kampung Muhibbah’s jetty which was completed recently.

He said the jetty would be able to accommodate six small boats.
