SS heads TYT’s birthday honours list

KUCHING: State Secretary Datu Jaul Samion heads the list of recipients of state honours and awards in conjunction with Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud’s 83rd birthday.

Jaul will be conferred the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang award which carries the title ‘Datuk Amar’ during an investiture ceremony to be held in Miri today.

Other recipients of the Datuk Amar Bintang Kenyalang award are State Financial Secretary Dato Sri Ahmad Tarmizi Sulaiman and former Serian member of parliament Dato Sri Dominic Andrew Dago @ Dagok Randan.

Minister of Local Government and Housing Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, a former assistant minister Datuk Gramong Juna and Deputy State Secretary Datu Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki will receive the Panglima Negara Bintang Sarawak award which carries the title ‘Dato Sri’.

Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Law, State-Federal Relationship and Project Monitoring) Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali heads the list of recipients of the Panglima Gemilang Bintang Kenyalang, which carries the title ‘Datuk’.

Other recipients of the same award are Assistant Minister of Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail; Assistant Minister of International Trade and Industry, Industrial Terminal and Entrepreneur Development Malcolm Mussen Lamoh; former Kuching North Datuk Bandar Datuk Abang Abdul Wahab Abang Julai; Shell Malaysia chairman Datuk Iain John Lo, Petroleum Sarawak chief executive officer Sauu Kakok; corporate figure Abdul Kadier Sahib; and Bishop of the Anglican Church in Sarawak and Brunei, the Right Reverend Danald Jute.

The Darjah Jasa Bakti Sarawak award, which carries the title ‘Datu’ will be conferred on Local Government and Housing Ministry permanent secretary Bakrie Zaini; Sarawak Drainage and Irrigation Department director Chok Moi Soon; director of administrative unit in the Chief Minister’s Office Antonio Kahti Galis; Sarawak Land and Survey Department director Zaidi Mahdi; and Sarawak Forest Department director Hamden Mohamad.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera (PBB) information chief Dato Idris Buang heads the list of the recipients of the Panglima Setia Bintang Sarawak, which carries the title Dato.

Others to receive the same award are Kuching Port Authority chairman Dato Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, Ibrahim Baki, Rakayah Madon, Wong Tiong Hook, Temenggong Abdul Rahman Fadzail, Temenggong Samuel Lawen, Bujang Mohidin Jol, Leonard Mating Uning @ Leonard Matin Uneng and Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar.
